WOODEN DEER

The assembly constraints i used the most were mating two planes. That constraint brings two surfaces together and keeps them there. Since i hat pegs on each of my parts, i did not need to use the flush constraint because the pieces were interlocking and only need one constraint. when the mate constraint was applied to each of the parts, all of the degrees of freedom were completely removed and it became all one piece.
Evaluate Solution
In my initial design, i had to adjust many things in order for it to meet the criteria. The main thing that wasn't right was the weight. My deer originally weighed 700 lbs and i had to figure out how to scale it to under 125 lbs. I did this by learning how to use the derive feature which was difficult at first but proved to be very useful. If I was to do something different, it would be to pay attention and use the design process more because this project, I went straight to modeling the deer without making sketches or really brainstorming. I believe that contributed to why this project was a little more difficult and not organized because of it. I also forgot to save some things and had to restart and that was not fun. But overall, i liked the project and learned a lot about inventor and the design process.
Present the Solution
Introducing: Yard Art. This lawn ornament is a wooden model of a deer made from scrap wood from a local furniture company. This deer can scare away unwanted animals, pests, or make a practice shooting target for when you go hunting. To make this deer, i modeled it in inventor and used the design process to arrive at my final design. This deer can withstand up to 72 lbs of tipping force so strong winds and playful children will not be an issue. This deer is not only helping the environment by recycling wood, but also providing a decorative ornament for your yard. Doing this, i personally have learned many things about the design process and the computer design system, Inventor. I ran into some trouble when creating this project. My first prototype was way too heavy and i had to scale it down so people can easily move it. i also had to break it down into 3 separate pieces for easy installation and storage. I learned a lot by making this, and hope to make something again soon.
